I’m not sure what to write today – I seem to have got out of the habit of regular blogging for a while and then when I do it’s not really about my feelings as such but about what I’ve been doing, where I’ve been and some nice photos!

Nothing wrong with that of course and I’ve been to some beautiful places and done loads of wonderful things this year.

In fact I’m just back from nearly a week in France on a dutch barge while P was doing some work on the engine I just mainly lazed about and enjoyed the water and the views, good food, good company and card playing. Without wishing to boast – I did keep winning ha ha.

I’m now spending a few days in Bristol catching up with friends.

My problem is that I seem to have lost my musical inspiration at the moment – it’s a year since I wrote a decent song and where we live now I don’t know any local musicians to get together and play with. I know this will change and that it takes time but my confidence (musically) is seeping away a bit at the moment. I find it hard to promote my album  – I need someone to help me sell it – it’s hard work trying to promote oneself and very difficult to get anywhere with it.

Anyway – just wanted to get that off my chest – I know I can turn it around and I’m very happy in my day to day life but I don’t want to lose my music mojo – there must be an answer *scratches head*…………..

Ok – so I’ve decided that I’ll only blog here from now on. It seems stable, easy to use and very much the old friendly feel of Efx and I’m fed up with constantly cutting and pasting. I’ll not delete Efx2 or Vox so they’ll be there if I need them but I’ll only be here for the near future so do subscribe to this one if you haven’t and you want to keep track (click the orange RSS icon top right).

I’ve just got back after a few days in Bristol going to my best friend’s birthday party. I played a set with Paddy there and there was a good Latin band afterwards with dancing in the garden – miraculously the weather stayed very warm and pleasant – it’s been raining nearly incessantly in recent weeks.

This week we’re going to be working on a friend’s African goods stall at Cropredy Festival – mainly folk music I think – then going to a wedding on Saturday.

Then next week we’re off to Bristol with the vans to prepare for ABC – African Beats Camp which we’re helping to organise. I’m really looking forward to it though it’ll be hard work as we’ll be crewing – it’ll be at least 10 days on the road so should be fun.

OK….so, looking forward to concentrating on this blog only.

How wonderful to see the new features – especially “friends” back on Efx3! Thanks to Pixie and whoever else is doing this work behing the scenes.

I like the social nature of “The Wire” for quick messages to friends etc and being able to see who has posted recently etc.

So…. breathing new life into the place feels great and I for one appreciate it.

I’ve managed to import all my old Blogger posts up till last November. The Efx2 posts RSS feed are archived as January 1970 – weird or what but at least they’re here – some of them anyway.

I’ve had enough of all this for now but at least I’ve got it working. I’ve deleted my efxinfo account as it’s all just too much! I shan’t do anything else to this now until at least May but I’ll try and post from the Gambia if I can.

I  noticed that Admin have added the Twitter widget. That’s great as even in Africa I can use that from a mobile or occasional email cafes. So I’ve put it on here as a means of some contact at least. See top left.

Hello guys – well here we go again. I won’t have time to fiddle with this before I go back to the Gambia but I’ll blog on the old Efx2 and Vox till the beginning of May then start here if it’s all up and running.

Thanks to those who’ve made this possible. I really like Vox for its ability to post audio and video but I still prefer Efx for the community so will definitely use this too.

I had a good tennis session this morning – I really enjoy playing tennis – it de-stresses me, keeps me fit and is a good social group as well.

This evening I’m going to a free gig at The Fleece and Firkin, a songwriters night with at least 3 performers – I’ll take my camera and post something tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to planning my new proper website – it’ll have a forum facility for people to discuss songwriting, lyrics etc etc as well as everything to do with my music – less of the personal stuff more of the music. This blog will then remain mainly personal though of course, music will always be an integral part of the topics as it’s what I do!
